Power Snack bags to Baptist Student Union

"What a glorious day the Lord has made!"  Saturday, April 30th, The Women’s Ministry and CIA (Children in Action) of Harmony Baptist Church, Leeton, MO, took 40 Power Snack bags to Central Missouri Universities’ BSU (Baptist Student Union) to help kick off their finals week.   The bags were beautifully decorated with special notes of encouragement on the outside and filled healthy power snacks on the inside by the CIA.  We met at the church to fill the bags with fruit, snacks and homemade goodies. We then journeyed to the BSU campus to deliver the snacks, had a quick tour of the facilities and Jaben Houk talked to us about the ministry that is offered.  Please visit their website at www.centralbsu.com to see more of their ministry opportunities.

BSU-A Jesus Community

The BSU is a UCM campus organization.  Our property is located across the street from the Ward-Edwards building on the North side of campus.
                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                             .
Our society has forgotten precisely what the Bible teaches over and over, that God is FOR us not against us!!! God is not angry but is ready and able to help if only we choose to ask for his help.  But the sobering reality is most people in the world don’t want God’s help in their lives.  Why is this? Normally there is one truth that they doubt, and that is that “God is good, and wants good for people.”  Therefore a person spends their life living according to their own wisdom.  Never coming to see the truth that God is better and more good than you think he is.

Our passion at the BSU is to help students learn that God is trust worthy and to learn how to trust him.

•To the skeptic- we offer up the undeniable beauty of the life of Jesus for examination. He lived out grace and made bold truth claims unparalleled by any other person who has ever lived.  His example and message either draws a person to conclude he was in fact God incarnate or he was a crazy man or a liar.  Those are the only three possible conclusions.
•To the student who has life figured out- we lift up the wisdom described in the Bible, the pragmatic wisdom worthy of investigation.
•To the church goer- we give a simple invitation to discover in ever increasing fullness the joy of knowing him and seeing your life become everything you were intended to be.

After our work was done, we then went to Dairy Queen for some ice cream cones and more fellowship to talk about how God was at work today not only in our lives but the lives of the students at the BSU.  It was a wonderful day!  Stay tuned for more ministry opportunities in the future!
